That stinks. Happened on my drive home after buying the Lexus. Wasn’t planning on two new Michelins less than a week after buying the thing.

This one was replaced the summer before last. I need to check up on the warranty and see if I have to pay for replacement.

Those bumps are not under warranty, so looks like you have a or some tires to replace
![]() 04/11/2019 at 14:10 |

Why wouldn’t they be? Is that not a defect?
![]() 04/11/2019 at 14:22 |

Works for most Uber drivers.

Good enough for me.

In your head, yes.

Normally this happens from driving on the tire when flat/underinflated, so the shop/tire company probably won’t want to pay out. If there’s no other damage on the tire though, it seems like it should be considered a manufacturers defect.

when it happened to me on brand new tires it wasn’t a defect. I was told by the tire store that only one company at the time had a warranty on tire tumors.
This is caused by hitting a pothole and busting the metal threads in the side wall.

The car has pressure monitoring, so it never gets too low. I don’t let it.
I guess I’ll see what the dealer says tomorrow.

I think that would have to have some rash on the tire to suggest that, and I don’t have any because I didn’t. I’ll see what the dealer says.

Typically they will go toward road hazard, as it you hit a pothole and busted the sidewall belts. Michelin’s?
![]() 04/11/2019 at 15:26 |

This is what happens when low profile tires hit potholes. Road hazard should cover it, at least partially.

Took one of the (somewhat new) summer tires off my GTI to get a chronic very slow leak looked at and the tech showe me some cracks on the inner sidewall, probably from potholes. Worst part is you can’t get style any more - They tried really hard to find one. Now I have to have a mismatched tire for a while. I hate having mismatched tires.
